Posted by Shearwater’s vessel Oceanic Vega arrived on site in the end of January and is currently shooting a 3D over three Production Sharing Blocks soon to be offered through ANP’s Open Acreage Bid. One of them – Bumerangue – was already offered on the 6th Production Sharing Bid Round (2019), while the other two – Esmeralda and Tupinambá – would have been offered on the now-canceled 7th and 8th Production Sharing Bid Rounds. This survey has an acquisition area of around 35,000 km², according to Ibama documents.
Just a little bit north, on the main Petrobras-operated pre-salt areas, a new seismic research license was issued regarding a new 3D OBN over Itapu. This indicates a continuous acquisition effort in the area, as the company is also currently shooting over the northern part of Tupi.
