MODEC’s FPSO Guanabara arrived at its location at the end of January and is expected to start producing in the first semester of 2022, according to a Petrobras press release. This platform – the first out of four planned – has a processing capacity of 180,000 bbl/day of oil and 12 million m³/day of gas, as well as a storage capacity of 1.4 million barrels.

Mero has been producing since 2017 through FPSO Pioneiro de Libra and has seen some intense drilling activity in the past two years, with 14 new wells. The asset was the first one to be auctioned under the Production Sharing regime in 2013 and is currently operated by Petrobras with partners ShellTotalEnergiesCNOOC, and CNPC.
