Equinor Gets Green Light for Raia Manta Wells

Yesterday (March 19th), Equinor received the green light from ๐—œ๐—•๐—”๐— ๐—” for the ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ฎ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ท๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜, enabling the drilling of three wells โ€“ ๐—ฃ๐—ฑ๐—”-๐—ฃ๐Ÿญ, ๐—ฃ๐—ฑ๐—”-๐—ฃ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฐ, and ๐—ฃ๐—ฑ๐—”-๐—ฃ๐Ÿฐ โ€“, all located in the ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ฎ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฑ (Pรฃo de Aรงรบcar prospect) under an updated license. The previous license included the wells Seat 3, Gรกvea 3, and Pรฃo de Aรงรบcar A3, which also covered the other prospects in the Raia Pintada field.

Equinor is expected to submit an updated drilling schedule within 15 days, with operations to be carried out by the ๐—ฉ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐——๐—ฆ-๐Ÿญ๐Ÿณ rig.

The Raia Project is operated by Equinor, which holds a 35% stake, alongside Repsol Sinopec (35%) and Petrobras (30%). According to the companyโ€™s website, the fields contain recoverable volumes of natural gas and oil/condensate exceeding 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent, with first production expected in 2028.
