Posted by Following up on recent news from seismic surveys in the Pelotas Basin, PGS has requested another license, this time focusing on the northeastern portion of the basin (Pelotas-NE). The survey has a proposed acquisition area of approximately 48,390 km², located 98 kilometers away from the coast, and starting at a water depth of 200 meters. According to the project’s schedule, activities will be conducted in four phases and is expected to last for 700 days.
This region has been drilled before back in 1995, but both wells were dry with no shows of hydrocarbons. The area also includes totally or partially more than 20 blocks on Open Acreage, all classified as Deep and Ultra Deep Water.
