Petrobras to Drill Second Sagitário Appraisal

After spending the past few months at Itapu field, drillship Norbe IX has moved to Block S-M-623 (Sagitário). This area was acquired almost 20 years ago, at the 2005 7th Bidding Round, for approximately USD 11.6 million at the time and is operated by Petrobras with Repsol Sinopec  and Shell as partners.

This is going to be the third well to be drilled on the block: the first wildcat was drilled in 2012, and an appraisal, also with positive results, was concluded in early 2020. This second appraisal should help further assess the reservoir extent and elaborate a possible development plan, which must be approved until March 2024.
