Three months after drilling operations began, Petrobras finally announced the results of the wildcat 1-BRSA-1377-RJS (Urissanê) and confirmed hydrocarbon shows on pre-salt reservoirs. Another well is planned on the west portion of the structure and is yet to be confirmed upon further analysis of the results.
The wildcat well 1-BRSA-1377-RJS (Urissanê) has a water depth of 2,953 meters, total depth of 6,635 meters (planned), and is located on the 14th Bid Round Block C-M-411, owned in partnership with ExxonMobil.
It is worth noticing that even though this area has been drilled before, none of the previous wells reached pre-salt formations, and positive results like this could bring more optimism for assets like the Água-Marinha block (open opportunity) as well as other acquired blocks from the 14th and 16th Bid Rounds, owned by bp, PETRONAS, Qatar Petroleum and Total.
