According to ANP, the drilling began on October 7th, is located at 1,850 meters of water depth, and has a planned total depth of 6,000 meters. The operation is being carried out by the vessel ODN I, which had just finished another drilling on Roncador in August.
The well 9-BUZ-48D-RJS is the first one located on the northwestern portion of the field and seems like it is to better understand the extent of the reservoir. This is the 11th well drilled this year and the 3rd in October only.
Búzios is operated by Petrobras (90%), with CNODC Brasil Petróleo e Gás (5%) and CNOOC International (5%) as partners.
