Last week, Petrobras confirmed oil shows in well 9-BUZ-99D-RJS, which began drilling in August 2024, with operations carried out by the Carolina rig. The well, located in the western region of the Bรบzios field, indicated a new accumulation in a zone below the main reservoir, beginning at a depth of 5,600 meters.
Also last week, the FPSO Almirante Tamandarรฉ began production in the field. A total of 15 wells are planned: 7 oil producers, 6 water and gas injectors, 1 convertible (producer and injector), and 1 gas injector. The FPSO Almirante Tamandarรฉ is the sixth production unit installed in Bรบzios, with 12 planned to be in place by 2027.
Petrobras expects Bรบzios to soon become its largest production field. In addition to the Brazilian state-owned operator, the field consortium includes CNOOC, CNPC, and PPSA (Prรฉ-Sal Petrรณleo S/A).
