Petrobras Drills Wildcat on Offshore Espírito Santo
Drilling activities began earlier this week, with Ocyan’s drillship ODN II at a water depth of 2,117 meters. Another well was previously drilled in 2018 on the same block, 10 kilometers away, but was declared dry with only a few HC shows.
Back then, Equinor had a 50% WI over the asset, as it was acquired in the 11th Bid Round (2013). However, they sold their share to Petrobras in 2020, which now holds 100% of the asset. Petrobras also operates another five nearby blocks in different consortiums, three of them still to be drilled.
