As expected, both Atapu and Sépia were successfully auctioned, raising BRL 11.14 billion in pre-fixated signature bonuses. Atapu’s winning consortium with Petrobras (52.5%), Shell (25%), and TotalEnergies (22.5%) offered a profit oil of 31.68%. For Sépia, Petrobras used its preference rights to join the winning consortium with 30% of interest as well as operatorship. Final consortium was Petrobras (30%), TotalEnergies (28%), Petronas (21%), and Qatar Petroleum (21%), offering a profit oil of 37.43%.
The Co-participation Agreements for these areas will define the proportions of each contract (Transfer of Rights and Production Sharing). These results also mark the entrance of two new players, Qatar Petroleum and Petronas, in pre-salt areas with very expressive production outputs.
