The company has just requested Ibama for a license in order to install the new FPSO P-71, which was originally intended to take part in the revitalization of Tupi but was relocated last year, anticipating Itapu’s first oil by approximately one year. The platform is currently at a shipyard in Espírito Santo, on its final stages of assembly, and has a production capacity of 150,000 bbl/day.

Itapu was discovered in 2012 and went through a successful extended well testing during 2017. It currently has four wells, with the latest one having its drilling initiated in July.
