Ibama has granted Petrobras with a new license for a 4D seismic research on Albacora Leste and Roncador fields, in the Campos Basin. The document will be valid for 1 year and 8 months after signature, with a renewal option also available.
This survey’s baseline was shot in 2005 when Roncador had an accumulated production of only 110 million barrels, around 1% of the oil in place. A second subsequent acquisition was made in 2012, now with an accumulated production of 650 million barrels of oil (540 million compared to the baseline).
The next phase of the survey is being carried on with an accumulated production of 1.5 billion barrels of oil, approximately 15% of the oil in place. These 3 generations of data will help to understand how the volumes produced affected different reservoir sections, as well as get a better subsurface imaging with the latest processing technology.
