On Monday, July 28, ๐ฏ๐ฝ reported oil and gas shows in wildcat well ๐ญ-๐๐ฃ-๐ญ๐ฏ-๐ฆ๐ฃ๐ฆ, located in the ๐๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐น๐ผ๐ฐ๐ธ, Santos basin. Drilling operations began in late May and were carried out by the Valaris Renaissance rig. Bumerangue was acquired during the ๐ญ๐๐ ๐ข๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฅ๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ (2022) for approximately BRL 8.9 million. ๐ฏ๐ฝ also plans to drill the nearby Tupinambรก block by 2026, which it secured in the 2nd Open Acreage Round (2023) for BRL 7 million.
In the Campos Basin, additional ๐ฏ๐ฝ-related activity is ongoing. A ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐/๐ฏ๐ฝ consortium is currently drilling well ๐ฐ-๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐-๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฌ๐ฎ-๐ฅ๐๐ฆ in the Alto de Cabo Frio Central block. The West Polaris rig, operated by Seadrill and contracted to Petrobras until 2028, is also listed on the drilling license for block ๐-๐ -๐ฐ๐ณ๐ณ. This block, owned by the same consortium, may be drilled in the near future.
