Two new fields in the ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐ผ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป – ๐ข๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฆ๐๐น ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ฎ – were recently declared commercial. These areas were originally part of blocks ๐ฆ-๐ -๐ฑ๐ญ๐ด, acquired during the 7th Concession Bid Round (2005), and Sul de Gato do Mato, acquired in the 2nd Production Sharing Bid Round (2017).
Both blocks were initially part of a consortium comprising companies ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐น (50%), ๐๐ฐ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐น (30%), and ๐ง๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐น๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฒ๐ (20%). However, in recent months, an agreement was signed transferring ๐ง๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐น๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ‘ stake to ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐น. In exchange, ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐น transferred a 3% WI in the Lapa field to the French company.
The Gato do Mato project targets pre-salt carbonate reservoirs, with condensate and natural gas as the main fluids from the Barra Velha formation. The recoverable resources in the newly declared fields are estimated at approximately 370 million barrels, with plans to install an FPSO built by MODEC capable of producing up to 120,000 barrels of oil per day.
