The drilling of the appraisal well ๐Ÿฏ-๐—•๐—ฅ๐—ฆ๐—”-๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿต๐Ÿด-๐—ฅ๐—๐—ฆ began on February 24th in the Alto de Cabo Frio Central block (ALTO_CF_CE), carried out by the West Polaris rig. The block was acquired by a ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜€/๐—ฏ๐—ฝ consortium in the 3rd Round of Production Sharing for BRL 500 million.

The state-owned company had previously drilled the block at the beginning of 2022, reporting oil shows in the ๐Ÿญ-๐—•๐—ฅ๐—ฆ๐—”-๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿด๐Ÿฏ๐—”-๐—ฅ๐—๐—ฆ well. This discovery turned into a Development Assessment Plan (PAD 48610.231215/2023-13), which applies only to its northernmost area, precisely where the latest drilling activities have taken place. There are still no drilling efforts on the southernmost portion of the block.
