Earlier this month, on July 9th, Petrobras started drilling the wildcat 1-BRSA-1393-ESS in the Espírito Santo basin. The operation is being conducted by Foresea’s Norbe IX and is located in block ES-M-673, acquired during Round 11 of the Concession Regime.
In addition to block ES-M-673, the state-owned Brazilian company holds five other adjacent blocks in the area. Earlier this year, another well was drilled further north on block ES-M-596, but no hydrocarbons were reported to ANP.
On Campos basin, Petrobras has been drilling on the southern portion of Jubarte since May. Well 4-BRSA-1392DA-ESS is far from the main production spots and aims to find hydrocarbons in an adjacent area not included in the main prospects of the field. This is the 5th well drilled this year on Jubarte, which is currently producing around 125,000 bopd.
