Posted by Last Saturday, on February 24th, Petrobras started drilling well 1-BRSA-1391-ESS in the Espírito Santo basin. This is the 3rd well drilled on block ES-M-596, 100% owned by the state-owned Brazilian company: 1-BRSA-1360-ESS was drilled in 2018 and 1-BRSA-1385A-ESS was drilled in 2022. None had hydrocarbon reports.
Petrobras also owns another 5 adjacent blocks in the basin. One of them, ES-M-669, had a well with gas shows drilled in 2021, but apart from that no other discoveries were made in the area.
