Posted by BGP is licensing their first non-exclusive survey in Brazil, over the western portion of Foz do Amazonas and Pará-Maranhão basins. The 3D streamer, named Fragata, has an acquisition area of 26,000 km² and will be divided in two phases. According to the schedule, activities for phase one should start in July 2023.
Most of the covered area never had any drillings nor 3D imaging before, and this survey should help understand Brazil’s equatorial margin potential. Currently, there are three blocks with suspended exploration programs as well as open acreage opportunities in the region.
