Posted by After concluding the well 1-BRSA-1379D-ESS with gas shows in Espírito Santo, drillship Brava Star arrived over Aram on August 19th, where another wildcat is being drilled on what has the potential to be one of the biggest fields in the country.
This block was acquired by Petrobras and CNODC (80% and 20%, respectively) on the 6th Production Sharing Bidding Round (2019) with a signature bonus of BRL 5.05 billion and profit oil percentage of 29.96%.
Petrobras previously drilled 3 wells with post-salt targets on the area above Aram, in 1995, 2001, and 2002. However, none of them had commercial results, the area was relinquished in 2002 and the pre-salt remains unexplored until now. The block BM-S-8, located east of Aram, had a pre-salt discovery – Guanxuma – in 2018.
