This week, on July 8th, ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜€ began drilling the wildcat ๐Ÿญ-๐—•๐—ฅ๐—ฆ๐—”-๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿญ๐——-๐—ฅ๐—๐—ฆ in รgua Marinha, aiming for pre-salt targets on the ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜€ ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ป. Activities are being carried out by Transoceanโ€™s Deepwater Aquila rig. Other wells have previously been drilled within the current boundaries of the block; however, the only one targeting the main รgua Marinha prospect was well ๐Ÿญ-๐—ฅ๐—๐—ฆ-๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฌ-๐—ฅ๐—, drilled in late 1999. The well showed hydrocarbon indications but didnโ€™t reach pre-salt and was ultimately abandoned.

รgua Marinha was acquired by ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜€ (30%) during the ๐Ÿญ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฆ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ข๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ป ๐—”๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐—–๐˜†๐—ฐ๐—น๐—ฒ and includes participation from ๐—ง๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น๐—˜๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€ (30%), ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐˜€ (20%), and ๐—ค๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—˜๐—ป๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐˜† (20%).
