This week, on July 8th, ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ began drilling the wildcat ๐ญ-๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐-๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฌ๐ญ๐-๐ฅ๐๐ฆ in รgua Marinha, aiming for pre-salt targets on the ๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป. Activities are being carried out by Transoceanโs Deepwater Aquila rig. Other wells have previously been drilled within the current boundaries of the block; however, the only one targeting the main รgua Marinha prospect was well ๐ญ-๐ฅ๐๐ฆ-๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ฌ-๐ฅ๐, drilled in late 1999. The well showed hydrocarbon indications but didnโt reach pre-salt and was ultimately abandoned.
รgua Marinha was acquired by ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ (30%) during the ๐ญ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ข๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ป ๐๐ฐ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฐ๐น๐ฒ and includes participation from ๐ง๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐น๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ฒ๐ (30%), ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐ (20%), and ๐ค๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ (20%).
