Early in April, Petrobras initiated the licensing process for several seismic surveys in Santos basin. The license covers a series of deepwater fields and blocks operated by the state-owned company.
The license includes eleven 4D OBN surveys, covering more than 13,000 km² in seismic acquisition. Those are: 1-OBN-Tortuga (1168km²), 2-OBN-Sagitário Órion Urtiga (1778km²), 3-OBN-Uirapuru (2090km²), 4-OBN-Iara (1340km²), 6-OBN-Sapinhoá (913km²), 7-OBN-Búzios (1215km²), 8-OBN-Tupi (1542km²), 9-OBN-Sépia (485km²), 10-OBN-Itapu (532km²), 11-OBN-Iracema (631km²) and 14-OBN-Aram (1408km²).
The same license also includes three Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) seismic surveys, covering more than 2,400 km². PRM involves conducting seismic surveys at repeatable time periods, to understand the behavior of the reservoir through its production time. The areas to be surveyed are: 5-PRM-Mero (716km²), 12-PRM-Sépia (485km²) and 13-PRM-Búzios (1215km²).
