Shell signed a new contract for Seadrill’s West Tellus drillship, which will carry out a series of well interventions in Parque das Conchas (Abalone, Argonauta and Ostra, located in the old BC-10 block) as well as the drilling of a new wildcat in the 15th Bid Round block C-M-791. Activities are expected to commence by the end of 2021.
The block was acquired in 2018 for BRL 551,100,197.94 by the consortium Shell (operator), Chevron and Galp, and currently has 3 drilling licensing processes. The asset is also right next to ExxonMobil’s C-M-789, where the Opal prospect is being drilled since January.
West Tellus is currently charted by Petrobras and being used in Campos ultradeep pre-salt exploration.
