After concluding the drilling of the Urissanê well, the vessel West Tellus arrived on the block C-M-709 on February 25th, where it has already begun the drilling of the other wildcat 1-BRSA-1378-RJS. The previous drilling took 127 days from spud date to conclusion date.
This well has a water depth of 2,840 meters and a proposed target depth of 5,580 meters, 24 km away from the Naru prospect (1-BRSA-1376D-RJS, which had HC shows) and 72 km away from ExxonMobil’s Opal prospect (drilling since January).
The block C-M-706 was acquired on the 15th Bid Round for BRL 1.5 billion and is operated by Petrobras (40%), with ExxonMobil (40%) and Equinor (20%) as partners.
